Welcome to my Poetry web site!

Alice Benson - is a direct descendant of writer and poet E. F. Benson on her Father's side, and the playwright Friedrich Von Schiller on her Mother's side. Alice was researching Schiller at the Goethe institute, and decided to write her first poem, "What Is Life Without You" which won the ‘Time Out Poetry Competition’ and was published in an anthology of Poetry called 'Mixed Emotions'.

Alice's second poem to be published was called 'Pollution', in a book called "From The Heart". Pollution was inspired by the anger she felt when working at a London theatre. A queue of taxis would wait all day on hot days with their engines still on,  Their polluting fumes eventually made her friend who worked on the stage door (next to that taxi rank) develop breathing difficulties.

Alice's third poem to be published was called 'Missed Chance' in a book called 'When love Becomes us'.

Alice was also Commissioned to write a poem for a special presentation of a boat to the Royal National Lifeboat Institute. The poem is called 'Lifeboat'.

Alice has had two poems and an article published by OCD-UK newsletter /magazine the poems are called 'Free from OCD' and 'OCD Memory'.

Alice is a performance Poet and regularly performs her poems. She also sells small poetry booklets after her gigs.
